I learned WAY too much about the two ladies in front of me in line at the bank today.
Mark,
What, that is IT? That is all you have to say? That’s a load of carp. Tell me WHAT you learned. Give me a break.
Ok, so the lady talking to the teller on the left is on Social Security, has several accounts with the bank and has been a customer since they were still Farmers Bank (or something) way back, 3 or 4 mergers ago. She is very concerned about how we have a lot of security problems in this country, and that may be why she doesn’t have her account number with her. Apparently her main account is not listed under her current name, and she is very sorry that she only brought the other checkbook with her today. To make sure that the message came across clearly, she must’ve said she was sorry that she brought the wrong checkbook six times. She did bring her I.D. with her in case it’s needed. She is very nosy when it comes to what the teller is looking at on the computer screen, “Oh, do you have a bunch of names that came up on there? Or is it just me? Cuz, I just don’t want you to pull up the wrong person or anything… what with all the security problems we have in this country.” I think she would have really preferred to go around the counter so she could help out.
The other lady has some serious health problems, although it was unclear what they were. She smokes, isn’t sure what to do with her hair, and unlike most of the population in Indiana, is underweight. She works doing accounting at a retail store, but they have plenty of singles and coin because she took them out of the deposit before she came to the bank. Her boyfriend just left her and stole a bunch of her stuff. She is really mad about that. Then the boyfriend called her up to chat as if he hadn’t just dropped her like a hot rock and stolen a bunch of her stuff. Her boyfriend is a jerk, and no one ever said he had brains. She makes bad life decisions, and will probably get back together with her jerky thief of a boyfriend. He either didn’t really steal her stuff, or she doesn’t really mind since she is not going to call the police on him. She thought it was a beautiful day, and was a little hungry.
Is that better Slammin’?
Oh hell yes. That’s like a gosh-darn soap opera right there. Wow. Go back to the bank, I want MORE!
